Next, experience the hospitality of Alcobaça. Visit the tombs of the Alcobaça Monastery, one of the most visited and best-preserved monuments in the country. After lunch (included only if the option is chosen; if not, you will enjoy free time on your own), go to the romantic and picturesque town of Óbidos before ending the tour at sunset and heading back to your hotel in Lisbon. Languages English, Spanish and Portuguese.
Afternoon

Fatima - Half-Day Private Tour

You will depart from your hotel towards Fátima, where Our Lady of Fátima appeared to three shepherd children in 1917. Here, you will visit the Basilica where Francisco, Jacinta Marto, and Lúcia are buried, the Igreja da Santíssima Trindade (Church of the Holy Trinity), the largest Catholic sanctuary in Portugal, and the Wax Museum that depicts the story of Fátima, with 119 wax figures set appropriately in the ethnography of the time of the apparitions. There will also be time to see the Capela das Aparições (Chapel of Apparitions), a small temple built at the request of Our Lady of Fátima when she appeared to the three shepherd children, and Azinheira Grande, the tree that Jacinta, Lúcia and Francisco passed before seeing the Saint. The tour can be adjusted so as to include the Candle Procession. It only takes place when there is a procession.
