First Day in Vlorë
I started my day with a delicious breakfast at Bari, where I ordered a traditional Albanian 'byrek'. It's filling and incredibly cheap, perfect fuel for a day of exploring.

Explore the Independence Square
A short walk from Bari takes you to Independence Square. Here, I took a moment to admire the flag and the statue of Ismail Qemali – it’s a nice, photo-worthy stop that doesn’t cost anything at all.
Visit the Muradi Mosque
Just around the corner, I found the Muradi Mosque. Open to visitors, it’s a simple yet beautiful site that showcases our trip’s cultural range. Respectful attire is appreciated, so keep this in mind.
Lunch at Azzuro
For lunch, I went to Azzuro. The seafood pasta was flavorful and fresh. I recommend the grilled calamari – it was simply amazing! Prices are reasonable too, given its location by the sea.
Relax at Vlora Beach
After lunch, I hit the beach. While some spots charge for umbrellas and chairs, I found a nice free area where I laid on the sand and enjoyed the clear waters. Don’t forget to bring sunscreen!
Explore the Old Town
Strolling through the Old Town was a delight — the architecture tells stories. It didn’t cost anything to wander around and enjoy the charming streets. Avoid any overly touristy shops, though; they mark up prices.
Dinner at Restaurant Pizzaria D'Angelo
I capped off my day at Pizzaria D'Angelo with a classic Albanian pizza — hearty and inexpensive. It’s quite popular among locals, which is a good sign.
